From Basement to Concert Hall – New Norwegian Jazz and an International Star at Moldejazz

Moldejazz presents both emerging Norwegian jazz voices in intimate settings and an international star on the main stage.

In the basement at Fuzzy, audiences are invited up close to three concerts featuring forward-thinking Norwegian jazz, while Nate Smith takes over Bjørnsonhuset with his critically acclaimed trio format.

At Moldejazz, we have always had a fondness for the small jazz clubs of Berlin and New York—places where the music can breathe in close proximity to the audience, and where intensity, risk, and presence take center stage. The program at Fuzzy ranges from raw, genre-defying expressions to more sonically exploratory performances, offering audiences insight into where Norwegian jazz is headed.

“With Vepsestikk and Karl Bjorå, we are adding two fresh bands to the festival, both with varied and exciting expressions. Audiences can expect concert experiences with a clear direction and youthful energy,” says Jørund Solli, head of the Program Council UNG.

Two of the concerts are programmed by the festival’s own Program Council UNG, which helps highlight new perspectives and strengthen connections with younger generations.

In addition, the Sverre Sæbø Quintet will perform at Fuzzy with their unique Nordic sound.
