VAT at 25% will be added to the prices for those who rent space with a tent. This applies also to tenants who are not residents of Norway. This is in accordance with the VAT regulations.

Electricity
If you require connection to electricity, please indicate this on the application form. Electricity provided by us should primarily be used for equipment for documenting sales. Please note that there is approved equipment for this purpose that runs on battery power. You must bring your own extension cord long enough to reach the connection point.

Payment
Agreement and regulations for renting space are approved through payment for the allocated space. Failure to pay the rent by the deadline may result in losing the space. In case of cancellation later than 3 weeks before the festival, the full rent must be paid.

Security
There will be security in the rental areas in the evening and at night. All products and equipment left in the tents are the responsibility of the tenant. It is not possible for the guards to monitor all areas at all times.

Tax Regulations
Moldejazz cooperates with the Norwegian Tax Administration regarding stand rental to ensure good conditions and working conditions for tenants, employees, Moldejazz, and for society in general. All tenants must confirm that they follow the regulations for cash transactions in the application form. The confirmation is both preventive and binding. Everyone engaged in sales activities, and thus earning income from their business during Moldejazz, must comply with the regulations issued by the Norwegian Tax Administration. Regulations for documentation can be found HERE. In addition, all those allocated space must submit a completed RF-1507 form to us. Information about RF-1507 can be found HERE. Please specify bodutleie@moldejazz.no as the recipient of the form when you order, then we will receive a copy of the form. The form should only be submitted when the notification of allocated space is confirmed by Moldejazz.

Street Performers
Moldejazz welcomes everyone who wants to contribute to the festival atmosphere. This includes street performers and/or others who wish to perform in downtown Molde. This, and the sale of CDs, is initially free of charge, but if you wish to sell other products in addition, the price and regulations will be the same as for mobile sales permits. The following rules apply to street performers/artists:

Designated areas in Storgata can be used for street performers. Please ask us about placement if you are unsure. If several artists wish to use the same zone, the performance time must be shared. Performance time is limited to 30 minutes per hour. The sound level must not exceed acoustic levels, even with the use of amplifiers. The use of playback is prohibited.

Products
Products such as helium balloons, counterfeit goods, airsoft guns, weapon replicas, knives, swords, throwing weapons, or similar, shall not be sold. Products with symbols that may be offensive shall not be sold. This especially applies to products associated with Nazism, racism, or drugs. The sale of other goods than those stated in the application form is not permitted.

Food Service
Food service will be subject to separate terms. Check off what you need in the application form, and we will send you an offer/price via email. For all tenants renting tents, the rental of hexagon flooring will be an additional cost.
Serving food at festivals and fairs (for sale or free) must be registered with the Norwegian Food Safety Authority. You must also provide the address of the kitchen where the food is prepared. You can do this using the Norwegian Food Safety Authority's online form service (not available in English). (Select the production method "Mobilt salg av matvarer")

Since its inception in 1995, the Jazzlogen has consisted of 50-70 young people aged 14-20 years, who have spread the joy of playing and gathered the city's population daily during the festival. This group of young musicians is referred to as Moldejazz's face outwards and therefore has an important role during the festival week.

The music played by the Jazz Lodge is mainly New Orleans music, both traditional and modern.

We practice the repertoire for the street parade during three seminar weekends, which are usually held in January, April and the weekend before Moldejazz. We are in a close partnership with Ytre Suløens Jass-ensemble (YSJE), who teach the musicians with a teaching technique called auditory play; the participants learn the songs "on the ear", i.e. a teaching method that does not involve reading notes. The Jazzlogen musicians learn how to use different listening techniques and memorize the songs. They will also learn the basic principles of improvisation where those who want will have the opportunity to improvise.

Ytre Suløens Jass-ensemble is one of Norway's oldest traditional jazz orchestras. The band has existed since 1973 and has played numerous concerts both nationally and abroad. As of today there are musicians from both the first, second and third generation in the band. Despite replacements in the band in recent years, the band has still preserved the legendary "Suløen-sound".

• The seminars are administered by Molde Janitsjar in collaboration with – and on behalf of – the Molde International Jazz Festival.
• The band has been in operation since 1929 and is thus a cultural tradition carrier in the city of Molde with members from 15–73 years who have a good social community, pleasant concerts and play-outs / marching.
• A small group of members is responsible for the practical implementation and administration of the Jazzlogen.

• Between 14–20 years old (or turn 14 during the year of the festival)
• Play wind, brass instrument, drums or percussion
• Wish to learn to play by ear
• Wish to learn basic improvisational techniques and skills

Moldejazz is held in week 29, every year. The street parade starts every day at 11.30. In addition, they also have a selection of other playing jobs during the week.

• Accreditation – free access if tickets are available – to many of the festival jazz concerts and thus an inspiration for expanding your horizon in the world of jazz.
• Ticket to a concert.
• The festival T-shirt of the year, with the Jazzlogen logo printed on the back.
• Playing jobs in smaller and larger ensembles that provide you with useful experience.
• 1 free lunch during each of the weekend seminars.

NB! By applying, you and your parents agree to photos, recordings and video with/of members of the Jazzlogen can be used in social media, as well as other media and press.

Participation fee: 1.200 NOK, transferred to account NO4596500943251 (IBAN) before the first seminar. The BIC (SWIFT) is SPTRNO22.

Accommodation during the seminars must be arranged by each participant. During the festival week, it's arranged with affordable accommodation for members of the Jazzlogen.

This will be an educational, exciting, motivational, and most importantly, a very fun experience! The instructors will be the members of Ytre Suløens Jass-ensemble (YSJE).

Musicians only need to bring their own instruments. Participants will practice learning music purely by memory and ear. This offers a unique approach to practicing and training both individually and in a group. YSJE aims to rehearse two different pieces during the weekend.

Musicians who participate in the practice weekend will also have the opportunity to join Jazzlogen in the parade on Saturday, July 19, 2025. The two pieces rehearsed will be performed repeatedly throughout the parade. Every participant in the parade will receive a Molde Jazz T-shirt with "JAZZLOGEN" printed on the back. It will be an exciting and enjoyable experience! The 30th anniversary of Jazzlogen will also be celebrated during this week.

- Rehearsals will run from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday at the Molde Cultural School.

- On Saturday, participants should bring their own lunch. On Sunday, Jazzlogen will provide pizza for everyone.

Jazzlogen is organized and operated by Molde Janitsjar (MJ) on behalf of Moldejazz, with YSJE serving as musical leaders. The MJ board appoints a project group to manage the event each year. Members of the Jazzlogen project group work as volunteers, motivated by seeing young musicians achieve mastery and joy through learning improvisation, playing together by ear, and stepping away from sheet music. This is an inspiring experience, and many musicians return year after year. The training weekends and performances during the jazz festival also foster strong social bonds among participants. In recent years, Jazzlogen has had between 50 and 60 participants.

Musicians who join Jazzlogen as regular members are accredited as volunteers during the jazz festival.

The age range for regular Jazzlogen members is 14 to 20 years.

The festival is organized every year in July on the 29th week of the year, and we have a close relationship with several other festivals both nationally and internationally.

Moldejazz is a foundation, with a permanent administration working throughout the year consisting of 5 FTEs. Annual sales are approx. 35 million NOK.

During 6 hectic days in week 29, the festival is host to about 120 concerts. We sell approx. 23,000 tickets and are visited by around 600 artists, 500 volunteer worker lends us a helping hand and more than 60,000 people visit Molde during the festival week.

Apart from the artistic, we take care of several business areas related to festival sales and restaurant activities, sponsorship work and more.

In addition to the festival itself, we also offer year-around jazz concerts in collaboration with Storyville Jazz Club in Molde. In 2012, we moved into the Plassen, a cultural building in the centre of Molde, together with Storyville Jazz Club, Teatret Vårt, Molde Library, the Bjørnson Festival and Møre and Romsdal Art Center. Plassen is a cultural melting pot of sorts, and has between 500–600 events in a year!

Since 2006 we have been a certified Environmental Organization.

Moldejazz was founded in 1961 and is held every year in July during week 29. We have a close collaboration with other festivals both in Norway and in other countries.

Through fulfilling industry requirements within HSE, work environment, energy, purchasing/material use, transport emissions to air and water and aesthetics, we demonstrate that Moldejazz has the will to tackle environmental problems directly. At the same time, we give our audience and volunteers the opportunity to be environmentally conscious while attending Moldejazz.

Moldejazz takes responsibility and solves environmental issues where they appear, namely in our local community. That's how we contribute to more sustainable development in Molde.

In 2014, 2014 and 2015 Moldejazz has qualified for Debio's «Golden mark», which requires at least 90% approved ecological food service during the festival.

Moldejazz' longtime project «Green food to blue tones» is maintained by the festival cooperating with a series of subcontractors that deliver ecological and local products. When Moldejazz aims for as much ecological food as possible, it's because of a wish to spread knowledge about the relationship between humans and nature. When we choose ecological food, we receive products that don't only taste good but also do good.

To Moldejazz, quality music and ecological food are naturally connected. Food quality is a staple in the cooperation with our subcontractors. We are not only interested in the ecological aspect, but also production quality, good taste and use of local and regional distributors.

How environmentally friendly Moldejazz is, is largely dependant on how environmentally friendly our collaborators are, in addition to the routines we have self-imposed and facilitated. We, therefore, urge all our collaborators and guests to keep the environment in mind.

Many of our collaborators and distributors have come a long way in their environmentally focused work, and is already certified as an «environmental lighthouses». Some of our collaborators that are environmentally certified are e.g. Maske Gruppen AS, Istad Kraft AS, Thon Hotel Moldefjord, TIBE Molde AS, Møre & Romsdal County.

We will improve our environmental performance annually. Control of purchasing is one of the most important areas to focus on to achieve this. Before a purchase is made, an assessment must be made. When purchasing material that will last more than one festival, a life cycle analysis must be performed, with clarification of the products environmental impact and any related documentation.

Environmental criteria must be set in all our purchases, and we will choose environmentally certified suppliers over those that can not prove environmentally friendly operations – and/or that only supply a limited amount of environmentally friendly products.

Environmental checklist:

• Check available confirmed environmentally friendly products on the market (Swan, EU-Flower, Debio, Good environmental choice, TCO and Økotex 100 etc).
• Choose primarily ecological food products (Ø-branded). Moldejazz has a goal of achieving more than 90% ecological food service for its audience, artists and functionaries.
• Check what is available of environmentally declared products - EPD (certified by ISO-standard).
• Always check relevant suppliers environmental profile, and if they are environmentally certified (documentation and statement must be sought out and saved on Moldejazz servers).
• Recycle materials when scrapping, by giving to charitable organizations (T-shirts, leftover food etc.)
