Karl Bjorå has, over the past decade, established himself as one of the most exciting and distinctive guitar voices on the Scandinavian jazz scene through his work with bands such as Emmeluth’s Amoeba, Yes Deer, Megalodon Collective, and Martin Horntveth’s Gouldian Finch

With a strong personal expression and an open approach to both composition and interplay, he has developed a musical language that moves freely between tradition and contemporary forms.

In this project, Bjorå has assembled a handpicked ensemble of some of the Nordic region’s most prominent musicians. Here, the traditional Hardanger fiddle—performed by Tuva Syvertsen and Selma French—meets a modern and electronic soundscape through synths and textured sonic layers created by Vegard Lien Bjerkan and Håvard Aufles.

The result is a rich and enchanting expression in which Norwegian folk music, jazz, and contemporary music merge into an organic and nuanced sound. The music shifts between the intimate and the expansive, the acoustic and the electronic, creating a space where the listener is drawn into a vivid and detailed sonic universe.

At Fuzzy, this project presents a band with a strong collective identity, where interplay is at the center and each musician contributes to shaping a sound that is both dreamlike, powerful, and deeply original.
