Louisiana Avenue

The phenomenon is back!

Since 2019, the party band with a capital P has captivated audiences at Moldejazz several times with their unstoppable energy and explosive stage presence!

“Sweden’s best live band” (LIRA 2019) holds a unique place on the Nordic music scene. As a tribute to one of the world’s greatest carnivals, Louisiana Avenue invites audiences into a colorful party where absolutely anything can happen! And during Moldejazz, the band will also premiere brand-new music.

The group draws from New Orleans’ bubbling melting pot of incredible music, embracing a rich mix of soul, jazz, funk, blues, and boogie-woogie — often seamlessly woven together.
Alongside their vibrant stage outfits, seemingly straight out of a Mardi Gras parade, the carnival atmosphere is amplified by inflatable unicorns, plastic bead necklaces, umbrellas, and several flamboyant costume changes. In this extraordinary New Orleans gumbo, the band creates a celebration where everyone is invited!

Pär Stenhammar – vocals
Hjalmar Leissner – guitar
Fredrik Dahllöf – drums
Martin Wilhelmsson – bass

GiddyGang & Vuyo

GiddyGang & Vuyo open the evening in Alexandraparken with warm, groove-driven R&B, soul, and hip-hop

The Oslo-based collective GiddyGang is known for its rich vocal harmonies, organic jams, and infectious live energy—praised as one of Norway’s best live acts.

Since their formation in 2019, they have developed a distinctive sound inspired by gospel, jazz, and the rhythmic language of hip-hop. With critically acclaimed releases and growing international attention, they are establishing themselves as a leading force in modern Norwegian soul. As Aftenposten writes: “GiddyGang proves they are just as strong on record as they are live.”

Vuyo adds a unique edge to the sound—with a warm, expressive voice and a natural stage presence that further elevates the interplay. Together, they create a dynamic and vibrant sonic landscape with both depth and energy.

A perfect way to start the evening before Carrtoons takes the stage—a warm, rhythmic, and high-energy opening to a summer night in the park.

Concerts in our main program typically last between 60 to 90 minutes.

Carrtoons

Wednesday evening in Alexandraparken brings heavy beats and infectious music you’re guaranteed to move to, with American Carrtoons and the Norwegian collective GiddyGang & Vuyo

Renowned Ben Carr – known as CARRTOONS – is a New York–based multi-instrumentalist and producer who has evolved from viral sensation to one of today’s most sought-after figures in modern jazz and soul production

With his catchy social media videos, polished live shows, and successful albums like Saturday Morning and Homegrown, he has crafted a distinctive sound characterized by warm retro vibes and unforgettable basslines.

CARRTOONS has already appeared in four NPR Tiny Desk performances and earned support from heavyweights such as DJ Jazzy Jeff and Pete Rock. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists across genres – from Usher, Freddie Gibbs, and Roy Ayers to Nate Smith, Kiefer, George Clinton, and Jadakiss – all while maintaining the soulful core that has made him a phenomenon.

In 2025, he released his most ambitious project yet, Space Cadet, an album that marks a career high. Featuring collaborators such as Pale Jay, Rae Khalil, Wiki, Erick the Architect, and Phonte, the project received widespread acclaim from musicians, critics, and fans alike. The album is followed by an international tour in 2026, with one of the stops being Moldejazz.

When CARRTOONS takes the stage in Molde, audiences can expect a concert where funk, jazz, beats, and improvisation fuse into a truly unique live experience. This promises to be one of the festival’s grooviest and most electrifying highlights.

Concerts in our main program last between 60 to 90 minutes.
In Alexandraparken, there is an age limit of 18 years from 7:00 PM.
