Datarock

Datarock is coming to Moldejazz to celebrate the 20th anniversary of a debut album that long ago secured its place in Norwegian pop history — and that still sets dance floors around the world on fire.

When DATAROCK DATAROCK was released in 2005, the band captured the spirit of the times with surgical precision: red tracksuits, razor-sharp hooks, irresistible energy, and songs like Fa-Fa-Fa and Computer Camp Love. The album took the band from Bergen to major festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Summer Sonic, and Reading and Leeds Festivals, while their music found its way into everything from FIFA, The Sims, and Need for Speed to global campaigns for Apple, Google, Samsung, and Coca-Cola.

Since then, Datarock has continued to expand its colorful universe through albums, EPs, remixes, symphonic collaborations, and critically acclaimed releases — always with the same distinctive blend of indie, electronica, funk, pop, and an uncompromising dedication to celebration.

When Datarock takes over Alexandraparken on Friday, July 17 at 11:00 PM, it will be both an anniversary celebration and a full-scale career-spanning party. Expect classics, surprises, and a concert guaranteed to send the Moldejazz night into a red-hot, sweaty, dance-fueled state of ecstasy.

Concerts in our main program typically last between 60 to 90 minutes.

Magnus Berg

- a raw live show — tight, loud, and sweaty in all the right ways

Magnus Berg recently won a Spellemannprisen in the Blues category, with a musical expression rooted in soul-driven rock, standout guitar work, and powerful vocals.
Known for his electrifying live performances, he has captivated audiences internationally with a sound that feels both classic in spirit and modern in execution.

Magnus delivers a style that nods to music’s golden eras without remaining stuck in the past — timeless soul rock and funk with sharp contemporary edges, fresh beats, and a forward-driving groove. All of it comes together in the band’s own unmistakable sound. The current live production (and the Electric Sugar era) draws inspiration from London 1967, New Orleans 1970, Los Angeles 1973, and Oslo 1999/2025 — a time-travel ride where vintage tones meet a fearless modern attitude.

Magnus creates music to connect — authentic, energetic, and emotionally charged. His vision is to preserve the roots while leaving the dust behind: modern soul rock packed with funk and momentum. He plans to release four new EPs throughout 2026, and we already know this will be a blazing performance in Alexandraparken. It will be nearly impossible not to get swept away by the energy.

We can only quote Steven Van Zandt:
“His playing is fantastic, just kick-ass.”

Joining him on stage are Ola Øverby (drums), Leo Geller (bass), and Jørgen Kasbo (second guitar) — widely regarded as some of Oslo’s heaviest-hitting musicians.
The result is simple: a raw live show — tight, loud, and sweaty in all the right ways.
