Jaga Jazzist
Norway’s most legendary genre-bending pioneers are back—ready to fill the night in Molde with cosmic energy
In 2027, a brand-new album is set to be released, and during the late-night concert at Moldejazz, audiences will very likely get to hear entirely new material—long before the rest of the world does
Jaga Jazzist has, for more than three decades, been one of Norway’s most boundary-pushing and visionary bands—a collective that has redefined what Norwegian music can be. Since forming in Tønsberg in 1994, the Horntveth siblings and their musical collaborators have crafted a sound that defies categorization: an explosive mix of post-rock, jazz, electronica, and psychedelic soundscapes. Jaga has always been one step ahead—always moving forward.
The band’s international breakthrough came in the early 2000s through their collaboration with Ninja Tune, and albums such as A Livingroom Hush, One-Armed Bandit, and Starfire turned them into cult favorites around the world. In 2020, they released Pyramid on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label—an album that cemented their position as one of the Nordic region’s most important experimental ensembles.
With a long tradition of using the stage as a laboratory, Jaga Jazzist is at its most electrifying when testing the future live.
