With the project Sleeping Music, violinist Tuva Halse and pianist Arne Torvik invite the audience into a quiet and atmospheric sonic landscape—inspired by the Norwegian winter and the rhythms of nature
The duo moves within an intimate chamber format, where European jazz meets Nordic folk music and classical textures. The music shifts between original compositions and open improvisation, characterized by lyrical sensitivity, warmth, and presence.
Both musicians grew up in Molde and have played together since 2014. Today, they stand out as strong, independent voices in the Nordic jazz scene—Tuva Halse as one of the most exciting emerging profiles, and Arne Torvik with a solid foothold both nationally and internationally.
