Christian McBride

Christian McBride kicks off the evening concerts in Alexandraparken with high-octane jazz

Christian McBride has been one of the world's most influential bassists for several decades, both on the double bass and electric bass. He has been awarded eight Grammys during this time.

Here, he has assembled a young band of musicians who contribute to enhancing his joyful musical message in an excellent manner. Alongside the young drummer Savannah Harris (a woman for the future, according to Ole Morten Vågan), McBride ensures a thrilling concoction that serves as the foundation for the band's rich musical excursions.

Nicole Glover provides muscular tenor saxophone playing, standing alongside the imaginative guitarist Ely Perelman. They are complemented by the brilliant Mike King on various keyboards. The band's transition between acoustic and electric expression makes it an experience you simply must not miss, whether you're a jazz aficionado, rocker, or just generally interested in contemporary music.

Louisiana Avenue

Don't miss out on one of Moldejazz's most unique phenomena and a true audience favorite!

Since 2019, the party band with a capital "P" has captured Moldejazz with its unstoppable energy and stage performance!

"Sweden's best live band" (LIRA 2019) holds a unique and special place in the Nordic music scene. As a tribute to one of the world's greatest carnivals, Louisiana Avenue invites you to a colorful party where anything can happen!

The group draws from the bubbling pot of magnificent music in New Orleans, encompassing a variety of styles such as soul, jazz, funk, blues, and boogie-woogie, often woven together. In addition to vibrant stage costumes reminiscent of a Mardi Gras parade, the carnival atmosphere is enhanced by elements like inflatable unicorns, plastic necklaces, umbrellas, and several flamboyant wardrobe changes. In this extraordinary New Orleans gumbo, the band creates a celebration to which everyone is invited!

Members: Pär Stenhammar: vocals, Hjalmar Leissner: guitar, Fredrik Dahllöf: drums, Martin Wilhelmsson: bass, Philip Neterowicz: keyboard, Leon Falk: trombone, Toste Solum: trumpet, Bosse Gustafsson: saxophone.

Concerts in our main program typically last between 60 to 90 minutes.
In Alexandraparken, there is an age limit of 18 years from 7:00 PM.
