Breakfast Seminar with NTNU

Music and Society

Trondheim Jazz Orchestra is the Artist in Residence at Moldejazz 2025. In this context, we want to give the audience a deeper understanding of the orchestra’s connection to NTNU as an educational institution

A Scientific Note at Moldejazz

In collaboration with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Moldejazz will host daily brekfast seminars at Kafé Kurt, just before the morning parades begin at 11:00. This offers the perfect start to your festival day – with inspiration for both mind and soul.

Set aside time from 10:30 to 11:00, Monday through Friday, and enjoy five uplifting talks on music and society:

  • Monday – Music and Community

  • Tuesday – The Cultural Industry

  • Wednesday – Learning Through Imitation

  • Thursday – Music and Emergency Preparedness

  • Friday – Music and Society

“Drive, energy, reflection, improvisation, and a keen ear for the surroundings are common to both jazz and the university. Here, we create synergy through knowledge – with music as the driving force,” says Nora Bilalovic Kulset, Head of the Department of Music at NTNU.

Moldejazz takes great pride in its close partnership with NTNU – a collaboration that also encompasses education at the national jazz program at Molde Upper Secondary School.

In both research and education, much is happening in the field of music. These five days of popular science are fresh, engaging, and delivered by Moldejazz’s long-standing partner, NTNU.
