Saxofonistic summit at Moldejazz when "Four Brothers" plays music for jazz lovers of all generations
The band gets its name from the famous sax section with Stan Getz, Zoot Sims, Herbie Stewart and Serge Chaloff in Woody Herman's big band in late 1990s. The band made a number of legendary recordings where both homogenous ensemble sound and solid solo from the four "brothers" were a trademark.
Now guitarist Staffan William Olsson has collected four brilliant saxophonists into a band where his own virile guitar game forms a link between the Sax section and a driving companion. Staffan has written and arranged a magnificent repertoire for the band, consisting of his own compositions and some famous songs. This is the mainstream jazz of the first order, jazz that stretches of good melodies, chords and imaginative improvisations. Everyone who loves energetic music that makes you swing can expect a busy time when these seven musicians take the stage at Storyville under Moldejazz.
