Edvard Hoem, born in Molde's neighboring municipality of Fræna, has developed a literary work that has made him both widely loved and won him numerous award. He has also been artistic director in Molde, and wrote the wonderful prologue "Når festen opnar» for Molde Jazz 1989. His last trilogy, based on historical material from Molde, Fræna and the United States have reached high circulation and with long waiting lists in libraries.
John Pål Inderberg Trio plays tunes inspired by Oline Sofie Bakkom, as well as American jazz tunes that have emigrated from the prairies to Trondelag. My Melancholy Baby and Brother Can You Spare a Dime takes us back to the railway construction and love affairs on the great prairies. With one foot in Nidelven and the other in cool jazz Inderberg has cultivated a strong personal voice that combines the Norwegian and the US on a completely unique way. With seasoned musicians such as Trygve Waldemar Fiske on bass and drummer Håkon Mjåset Johansen, this is a trio that oozes enthusiasm, humor and acoustic interaction of the highest level.
